- Lookout London, 8 Bishopgate, London, England – 25 January, 2024 Lookout London, 8 Bishopgate, London, England – 25 January, 2024: https://youtu.be/0j9x5rC9YRs . 8 Bishopsgate (sometimes referred to as ‘the Jenga’) is a 51-storey, 204-metre (669 ft) tall commercial skyscraper located in the City of London financial district. On completion, it will be the 11th-tallest building in London. The building is situated on the corner of Bishopsgate and Leadenhall Street, where it neighbours 122 Leadenhall Street and 22 Bishopsgate, two taller skyscrapers also constructed as part of a recent wave of high-rise development in the Bishopsgate area, caused by growing demand for office space in the City of London. To read more about 8 Bishopgate, click here: https://ift.tt/IigJYcO . The Lookout is a 51st floor observation deck at the top of 8 Bishopgate. The film features views of 8 Bishopgate as well as the elevator ride to the top of the tower, the observation deck, views over the city of London and then the ride back down the elevator and the building departure. This is a free visitor attraction, which is well worth doing if you are in London. - LNER First Class Journey Review from Horsforth (Leeds) to London King’s Cross Station – January 2024 LNER First Class Journey Review from Horsforth (Leeds) to London King’s Cross Station – January 2024: https://youtu.be/id42e7eezbk . Hey folks, in this film, I’ll be reviewing a LNER first class train journey that I took from Horsforth in Leeds to London King’s Cross railway station. The journey began with an early walk to Horsforth railway station in order to get the 07:56 departure from Horsforth to Leeds. At Leeds I leave the train and head down the platform, through the barriers and onto the concourse, where I go into the LNER First Class Lounge. I film within the very quiet lounge and highlight its features. I have 45 minutes in the lounge before heading back to the platform to get my train to London, which was the 09:07 arrival from Bradford Forster Square to London. My seat was in First Class coach D, it was seat 26, which was a forward facing single airline style seat with a table. It was an adjustable reclining seat with a USB socket and a three pin power socket. The table was easily large enough for a laptop. The train was a LNER Azuma and departed on time at 09:15, before calling at Wakefield Westgate, Doncaster, Grantham, Stevenage and arriving 4 minutes early at 11:26 at London King’s Cross. The catering in first class was included in the ticket price and the film highlights the breakfast menu items. I had a bottle of Harrogate Spring Water, an apple juice, fritatta with posh baked beans, and a cup of tea. The film also highlights the accessible first class toilet on the LNER Azuma. Within the film, besides the railway stations that the train stopped at en-route to London, the following other locations and features were identified: Burley Road, Kirkstall Road, River Aire, Leeds Liverpool Canal, Leeds Whitehall, Elland Road Stadium (Leeds United A.F.C.), Wakefield, the River Don, the A19 road bridge, Nottinghamshire countryside, A1 Pits (fishing ponds) at South Muskham, the River Trent, the Nottingham to Lincoln railway line, Newark Northgate railway station, Lincolnshire countryside, Grantham, GB Railfreight Terminal at Peterborough, Westwood Bridge, Spital Bridge, Peterborough railway station, Crescent Bridge, Peterborough, the River Nene, Cambridgeshire countryside, Huntingdon railway station, Cotton Wind Farm, Stevenage, Finsbury Park railway station, Emirates Stadium (Arsenal F.C.), North London and views around London Kings Cross railway station. - Review: The Pilgrim’s Progress, Bedford, Bedfordshire, England, August 2023 (A JD Wetherspoon Hotel) Review: The Pilgrim’s Progress, Bedford, Bedfordshire, England: August 2023 (A JD Wetherspoon Hotel) – https://youtu.be/2GoGL_La1ow . The Pilgrim’s Progress is a JD wetherspoon Pub and Hotel located centrally in the market town of Bedford. It is close to multi-storey paid car-parking and the River Great Ouse. I stayed at this hotel for one night in August 2023, two of us stayed in a double room on a room-only basis, which cost £76.50 booked with booking.com. Our room (306) was on the top floor in the eves / old attic of the building, which was quite cosy from an aesthetic standpoint. The bedroom was of a good quality as Wetherspoon hotels usually are, the bed was comfortable but only a double bed sized and not a king-sized bed, the room had tea and coffee making facilities and an open wardrobe. The bathroom was nely refurbished with a wetroom style floor and a nice shower cubicle rather than a difficult shower over a bath. The room was comfortable enough for one night, however it was quite noisy, the road outside was busy and there was an ongoing theme of ‘boy racers’ revving their engines as they noisily drove through the town. We were rudely awoken by the fire alarm in the hotel, it turned out that the idiots in the room opposite had been somking in their room. The wetherspoon staff knew which room had activated the alarm and immediately evicted them, giving them 10 minutes to pack their bags and leave – bravo to them for not being shrinking violets and doing that. All in all this was a decent value hotel, but I think in all honesty if I was staying in Bedford again, that I would look at other accommodation options. The film features views of the building exterior, Wetherspoon pub, lift / elevator, third floor corridor, a detailed room inspection of 306 and of course the Wetherspoon breakfast! - Cambridge The Movie: A 4K pedestrian exploration of Cambridge, UK. Filmed between 2020 & 2023 Cambridge The Movie: A 4K pedestrian exploration of Cambridge, UK. Filmed between 2020 & 2023 – https://youtu.be/846NyWD9a5k . Cambridge is a university city, non-metropolitan district and the county town of Cambridgeshire, England. It is located on the River Cam approximately 55 miles (89 km) north of London. The city is most famous as the home of the University of Cambridge, which was founded in 1209 and consistently ranks among the best universities in the world. The buildings of the university include King’s College Chapel, Cavendish Laboratory, and the Cambridge University Library, one of the largest legal deposit libraries in the world. The city’s skyline is dominated by several college buildings, along with the spire of the Our Lady and the English Martyrs Church, and the chimney of Addenbrooke’s Hospital. To read more about the city of Cambridge, click here: https://ift.tt/Cszy12m . This film features a detailed and labelled pedestrian exploration of the city, filmed in 4K. The film was made during multiple visits to Cambridge over a 4 year period from January 2020 to December 2023. The film takes the perspective of a flâneur who is strolling around the city on a zig-zagging circuitous route, which takes in the main sites associated with Cambridge alongside many lesser known ones. The film is intended to highlight the urban infrastructure of Cambridge, alongside the University buildings, public transport, roads, natural areas, historic sites, tourist attractions, River Cam, residential areas, religious buildings, museums, pubs, bars, restaurants, art galleries, graffiti and the general culture of the city of Cambridge. Filming is done in a way that is subtle, there is no voice narration, the idea of the film is for the viewer to experience Cambridge through my eyes seeing what I saw when I visited. I look for the ordinary and mundane alongside the unusual and remarkable. The viewer is taken on a continuous journey geographically, but not all of this is filmed at the same time. You will see Cambridge during Covid restrictions, you will see Cambridge during a drought when the grass was completely yellow, you will see Cambridge during a hard winter covered in snow and you will see Cambridge as it is everyday, with residents, students, visitors and tourists all adding to the societal patchwork that contributes to the vibrancy of the city. This film is designed to be informative art, it is a documentary, but it is not a marketing or tourism film, this is not a holiday film, it is Cambridge, just Cambridge and nothing else. I hope that you enjoy the film and would be very happy to read your feedback in the film’s comments.
