The Animals in My Garden (Part 1) July – August, 2020. Cookridge, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England Hi Folks, well travel is largely curtailed for the time being, so I thought that I would try something new and different for my channel, and have vinvested in an Apeman wildlife camera. The camera works through motion detection, and I have spent the first few weeks with it just in and around my garden, seeing what visitors come and go. The film begins mostly with cats, all of which live locally to me, although some of which I never see during the daytime. After the first 5-6 minutes it becomes more interesting as the local foxes make an appearance, there are three different foxes within the film, an adult female, an adult male (with mainge on his tail and back end), and a cub, which looks around 6 months old. I don’t know if they are a ‘family’ unit or not, but the mother and cub certainly seem to spend time together. The film also features some of the local birdlife, mostly magpies, pigeons and jackdaws. There are also a couple of glimpses of a fieldmouse and a hedgehog. All in all the Apeman camera has provided a unique view of these creatures, which I have attracted with either old cat food (which my cat wouldn’t eat), a chicken caracass and some out of date pork pies! I hope you enjoy this film, I’ll upload more like this in future months.
