Hotel Review: Holiday Inn Express, Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England – March 2020 Hotel Review: Holiday Inn Express, Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England – March 2020: . I’ve just added a new film to my Hotel Reviews: England playlist, here: of a review of the Holiday Inn Express, filmed in March 2020, a few days before the coronavirus lockdown, which the British government imposed on the 20th of March, 2020. I stayed here for one night and paid the bargain price of £68, which included breakfast. The hotel is located on the town’s main thoroughfare, called Albert Road, and is a 5 minute walk from Middlesbrough Railway Station. The hotel is located directly opposite Centre Square, which is one of Middlesbrough’s key cultural focal points and event spaces. Check-in was very fast with a friendly receptionist, who not only let me check into my room 6 hours early at 9am, she also let me have an extra free breakfast, as the restaurant was empty and the food may have gone to waste. To expalin, the fear around coronavirus had already had a major impact on travel and people’s movements. The hotel, which I’m sure is ordinarily very busy, was extremely quiet. My room was on the third floor and was well designed, well maintained and very comfortable. It had a double bed, open wardrobe, desk, chair, armchair, iron and ironing board. The room also had air-conditioning. The bathrom was very modern with a shower cubicle, toliet and sink. The restaurant was fairly large and open plan, the breakfast buffet was excellent, really enjoyable, with English and continental breakfast options. The sausages and bacon were good quality. I was impressed with this hotel, it was a great price, very comfortable and the staff were friendly giving fantastic customer service. I would definitely stay here again in future. This film features external views of the hotel from Albert Road, Reception, the lift / elevator, the third floor, a detailed inspection of room 363 with coronavirus realted hygiene advice, the bar, restaurant and breakfast buffet.
